Leadership Philosophy

My years in education and the arts have impressed upon me that the combination of collaboration and communication are the most efficient ways to empower the team and keep the improvement trajectory within a company alive and growing.

Collaboration: I will put my trust in the talent I work with to be equal partners in the imagining, creation, and stewardship of the company. Collaboration means we must acknowledge variations in skill sets and work together to fill areas of knowledge gaps. Collaboration means fresh ideas an methods, and it means identifying and nurturing talent for the benefit of the company. I recognize effective leadership as being out at the front of a group, on the same level moving forward; staying informed of company and project context by experiencing the effects of initiatives on the same level as the team.

Consistency in Communication: I take responsibility and give responsibility to my collaborators by keeping them informed as information is gathered. Collaborators can only work with the information they are given, and I pledge to give information in a consistent and recognizable manner. When a leader takes the time to keep everyone on the same page, it allows the team to make more informed decisions and in turn balance their personal and professional timelines.

Education: We rise together through skills, information, and experience. I take responsibility for helping each team member grow regardless if it is personal or professional in nature. If a team member is intellectually stimulated, gaining skills, or gaining confidence within their projects, it will benefit the company even if it is not directly related to current company pursuits.
